Ajax has listed Xavi as a candidate for the new head coach next season

Reports indicate that Ajax has been eliminated from European competition this season and currently trails Eredivisie leaders PSV Eindhoven by as much as 28 points. The current Ajax head coach, Ten Hag, has announced that he will step down on June 30th. Therefore, Ajax is planning for next season.

In order to return to their previous level, Ajax has drawn up a list of candidates for the new head coach. According to the Daily Sports Report, this list includes Xavi. Ajax is looking for a candidate whose characteristics match those of Xavi, but at the moment, only preliminary discussions have taken place regarding the appointment.

Xavi meets the criteria that Ajax is looking for. They value Xavi's experience as a former player and his years of coaching young players at Barcelona. Ajax also has a very young squad. Most importantly, they appreciate Xavi's coaching style, as he is passionate about playing from the back and implementing possession football.

However, if Xavi does not coach Barcelona, he prefers to take a year off.
