The Italy national team may soon call up Burnley winger Luca Koleosho

According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Italy national team coach Luciano Spalletti is currently scouting Burnley's winger Luca Koleosho.

The 19-year-old Koleosho came through Espanyol's youth system and primarily plays as a left winger, though he can also operate as a right winger or second striker. He transferred to Burnley last summer, and last season he made 15 appearances in the Premier League, contributing 1 goal and 1 assist. In the first four rounds of the Championship this season, he started 3 times and scored 1 goal.

Now, according to Schira, Spalletti is closely monitoring Koleosho's performances, and the young forward could soon receive a call-up to the Italy national team. Koleosho has previously made 10 appearances for Italy's U19, U20, and U21 teams, but he also holds U.S. and Canadian citizenship. He previously played 4 times for the U.S. U15 team and was called up to the Canadian national team in September 2022.
