Agent: Zalevski Has the Right to Decide on Transfer
The agency representing Roma midfielder Zalevski issued a statement through ANSA addressing false reports and discussing the player's decision to reject a move to Galatasaray.
Zalevski's contract with Roma expires next summer. Before the transfer window closed, Roma attempted to sell him to Galatasaray, and an agreement was reached between the clubs. However, Zalevski ultimately refused the transfer.
In this situation, Zalevski has been removed from Roma's first team. His situation might change if he chooses to extend his contract. Zalevski’s agency has issued a statement thanking Galatasaray for their interest and emphasizing that the player has the right to reject offers and decide his own future.
GP Soccer and Management Srl, Zalevski’s agency, stated in their message to ANSA: "In recent days, many creatively processed reports about Zalevski's career have been published by newspapers and sports websites, but these do not reflect the actual facts.
"Zalevski was initially open to the offer from Galatasaray, but he later decided to decline the Turkish club’s proposal, despite continued encouragement. He maintained his position firmly. The player is grateful for Galatasaray's interest and efforts up to the last moment.
"Ultimately, the player has an inalienable right to decide whether or not a transfer goes through, as it pertains to his career. This is indisputable and unrestricted (even when discussing a potential contract extension with his own club).
"We allow the media the freedom to assess the manner and context of these negotiations, but we cannot condone accepting these creatively processed reports. We firmly and calmly invite those who wish to convey accurate information to gather all the details before reporting, to avoid unnecessary speculation that can harm the player."
Zalevski has made three appearances for Roma this season and was not included in the new league squad list.
